Professor Stephen Melamed to advise Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana

Stephen Melamed, Clinical Professor of Industrial Design, will travel with Dean Everett and Peter Pfanner, Director of the UIC Innovation Center, to Mexico City to advise Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana (UAM) on the development of interdisciplinary design curriculum and to guide the university's new leadership in the development of an innovation center at their Azcapotzalco campus. Melamed was originally invited to UAM in 2011 to make a presentation on the UIC Interdisciplinary Product Development (IPD) Program. IPD is a year-long course that brings together faculty from three UIC Colleges and students from Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, and MBA/Marketing to work in cross-functional teams to research and develop new product concepts.
