Grace Spee, Pedro Neves, Quentin Bu, and Sharon Oiga at TypeCon 2023

Clinical Assistant Professors Grace Spee and Pedro Neves, along with recent MDes graduate Quentin Bu, were selected to present at TypeCon 2023 in Portland, Oregon.

Grace explored the evolution of typography in video games, Pedro presented his graduate class’s foray into using the letterpress to print typographic works created with Lego bricks, and Quentin showcased her thesis project concerning experimental typography with physical computing in extended reality.

Sharon Oiga, Professor and Interim Director of the School of Design, led the TypeCon Education Forum. Also pictured are alums Guy Villa Jr (co-host of Ed Forum) and Alice Lee (MDes graduate), as well as Adjunct Assistant Professor Amira Hegazy.
