Reid Schlegel :: IDSA Design Lecture/Workshop
Reid Schlegel is an Industrial Designer based in New York. He will visit UIC on behalf of IDSA Chicago to give a talk and conduct a workshop on the transition from design student to design professional through his experience at Virginia Tech, Quirky, Smart Design, and now, Frog Design.
As a student at Virginia Tech, Reid was the president and vice president of the IDSA student chapter, he received an honorable mention in the 2010 IDEA awards and won the 2012 IDSA Northeast District Student Merit Award. Reid loves how design can be used as a force for good and has a passion for humanitarian projects. During his time at Virginia Tech, Reid was most proud of his group project Vole shoes, which Eastman Chemical highlighted in their Innovation Lab.
