Lecture: Maurice Blanks, Co-Founder of Blu Dot

Maurice Blanks, UIC School of Architecture alum and co-founder of Blu Dot, will give a talk co-sponsored by the Schools of Architecture and Design on Monday, November 3, 5:30pm, 1100 Architecture+Design Studios, 845 W. Harrison Street.

Blu Dot, based in Minneapolis, designs and manufactures modern furniture. With a highly collaborative approach from concept through production, co-founders John Christakos and Maurice Blanks set out to bring good design to as many people as possible by creating products that are useful, affordable and desireable. "We like to think that the form is almost inevitable, a by-product of the process. Our job is simply to help it emerge as efficiently as possible."
